Yes I know it has been too long for between blogs. I presume there is a “blog“ protocol for posting, and I feel I have just broken it. Be that as it may here I am again.
We had a great trip back to Melbourne catching up with family and friends. We were ridiculously busy and could in no way call it a holiday. However it was great to see people and to enjoy great food, and catch up on medical stuff. My knee is now almost fully recovered. I can do yoga and ride my (new, second hand) bike and I am starting to do some more walking. I give it another month to really get 100 %.
Since we have arrived home we have been flat out. We had a group from a high school in the States come to visit This always means lots of fun for the kids of Si A la Vida and lots of coordinating to make it all happen. We have also been preparing for Mothers Day which is a huge event here. This day rounds of May, the month of Maria (the mother of Jesus) which sees church services every night, complete with band and fireworks. The school year is now into that routine mid year grind and the staff are all looking forward to a week break in July.
The work on the finca had slowed down while we were away, although the chickens kept growing and were killed and sold. The area for the cattle is ready and but then we had to wait for the rain for there to be more feed for them. Things are moving again now, so hopefully photos of happy cattle will follow soon.
We returned feeling very happy to be back. We love seeing family and friends, but we feel this is the right place for us at the moment. One thing in being home, we realised how hectic and busy peoples lives are. We were surprised how the amount of traffic added to the stress of doing one. We have returned to attend the challenges here. One of the questions I was often asked in Melbourne was if we ever have time to enjoy ourselves. I am happy to report that the purchase of two new bikes has added to our level of enjoyment. We often take off on the weekend and explore roads that become tracks that become rocky paths and enjoy the beauty of the island.
I hope your traffic jams are few and your time enjoyment great.
( sorry no photos! We are having trouble with internet and it is too slow for photos)
